กรุงเทพฯ, 11 พฤษภาคม 2569 - เอสซีจี เคมิคอลส์ หรือ SCGC นำโดย นายชาตรี เอี่ยมโสภณา ประธานเจ้าหน้าที่สายงานพาณิชย์ ส่งมอบกล่องข้าวรีไซเคิล ชนิด Food Grade จำนวน 10,500 กล่อง ให้กับกรุงเทพมหานคร (กทม.) โดยกล่องข้าวดังกล่าว ผลิตจากกล่องอาหารที่ผ่านการใช้งานในกิจกรรมของกรุงเทพมหานคร โดย SCGC ได้นำมาผลิตเป็นกล่องใหม่ ด้วยเทคโนโลยีรีไซเคิลขั้นสูง (Advanced Recycling) จึงมีคุณสมบัติเทียบเท่าของใหม่ สามารถสัมผัสอาหารได้ สะอาด ปลอดภัย โดยจะนำไปบรรจุอาหารพระราชทานแก่ประชาชนที่เดินทางมาเข้าเฝ้าฯ กราบถวายบังคมพระบรมศพ สมเด็จพระนางเจ้าสิริกิติ์ พระบรมราชินีนาถ พระบรมราชชนนีพันปีหลวง ณ พระที่นั่งดุสิตมหาปราสาท โดยมีนายชัชชาติ สิทธิพันธุ์ ผู้ว่าราชการกรุงเทพมหานคร เป็นผู้รับมอบ พร้อมทั้งนายศานนท์ หวังสร้างบุญ รองผู้ว่าราชการกรุงเทพมหานคร และนายพรพรหม วิกิตเศรษฐ์ ที่ปรึกษาของผู้ว่าราชการกรุงเทพมหานคร เพื่อส่งต่อให้สำนักพัฒนาสังคมและครัวพระราชทาน ผ่านนางสาวอรทัย สกุณี รองผู้อำนวยการกองพระเครื่องต้น สำนักพระราชวัง

 

สำหรับกล่องข้าวรีไซเคิล ชนิด Food Grade ดังกล่าว เกิดจากความร่วมมือระหว่าง SCGC และกรุงเทพมหานคร ในการคัดแยกประเภท พร้อมทั้งรวบรวมกล่องอาหาร และพลาสติกที่ใช้แล้วจากกิจกรรมต่าง ๆ ของกรุงเทพมหานคร โดย SCGC ได้นำพลาสติกเหล่านี้เข้าสู่กระบวนการรีไซเคิลด้วยเทคโนโลยี Advanced Recycling เพื่อแปรรูปเป็นวัตถุดิบตั้งต้นสำหรับโรงงานปิโตรเคมี (Circular Naphtha) และนำมาผลิตเป็นเม็ดพลาสติกรีไซเคิลคุณภาพสูง (Certified Circular Polyolefin Resin) ภายใต้แบรนด์ SCGC GREEN POLYMER ซึ่งสามารถสัมผัสอาหารได้อย่างปลอดภัย

 

ความร่วมมือดังกล่าว ส่งเสริมให้เกิดการจัดการพลาสติกใช้แล้วแบบ Closed-Loop เพื่อกลับเข้าสู่กระบวนการรีไซเคิล ไม่เล็ดรอดออกสู่สังคมและสิ่งแวดล้อม และยังมุ่งเน้นการใช้ทรัพยากรให้เกิดประโยชน์สูงสุดตามหลักเศรษฐกิจหมุนเวียน สนับสนุนเป้าหมายการก้าวสู่เมืองคาร์บอนต่ำ และนโยบายแยกขยะ ลดการฝังกลบของกรุงเทพมหานคร ซึ่งสอดคล้องกับกลยุทธ์ด้านความยั่งยืน Low Waste, Low Carbon ของ SCGC อย่างเป็นรูปธรรม

 

โดยก่อนหน้านี้ SCGC ได้นำกล่องอาหาร และพลาสติกใช้แล้วเข้าสู่กระบวนการรีไซเคิลเชิงกล (Mechanical Recycling) และผลิตเป็น “เก้าอี้รักษ์โลก” จำนวน 150 ตัว โดยได้ส่งมอบเก้าอี้เพื่อนำไปใช้ในกิจกรรมต่าง ๆ ของกรุงเทพมหานคร เมื่อต้นปีที่ผ่านมา

Bangkok, May 11, 2026 – SCG Chemicals or SCGC, led by Mr. Chartree Iamsophon, Chief Commercial Officer, has delivered 10,500 food-grade recycled food containers to the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA). The food containers are produced from used food containers collected from Bangkok activities and recycled by SCGC into new food containers through Advanced Recycling Technology, resulting in properties equivalent to virgin material and ensuring they are clean, safe, and suitable for food contact.

The food containers will be used to package royal-provided meals for the public paying respects to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother at Dusit Maha Prasat Throne Hall. The handover was received by Mr. Chadchart Sittipunt, Governor of Bangkok, together with Mr. Sanon Wangsrangboon, Deputy Governor of Bangkok, and Mr. Pornphrom Vikitsreth, Adviser to the Governor of Bangkok, for further distribution by the Social Development Department and the Royal Kitchen, via Ms. Orathai Sakunee, Deputy Director of the Office of Royal Household Supply Division, Bureau of the Royal Household.

The food-grade recycled food containers are a result of collaboration between SCGC and BMA in sorting and collecting used food containers and plastic waste from various Bangkok activities. These materials are processed through Advanced Recycling Technology into Circular Naphtha, a feedstock for petrochemical production, and further developed into Certified Circular Polyolefin resins under the SCGC GREEN POLYMER initiative. These resins are safe for food contact and can be used to produce high-quality food containers.

This collaboration promotes a closed-loop plastic waste management system, ensuring that used plastics are continuously recycled and do not leak into the environment. It also maximizes resource efficiency in line with circular economy principles, supporting Bangkok’s policies on waste separation and landfill reduction, as well as its transition toward a low-carbon city, in alignment with SCGC’s Low Waste, Low Carbon strategy.

Previously, SCGC also recycled used food containers and used plastic food containers through Mechanical Recycling to produce 150 eco-friendly chairs, which were delivered earlier this year to support various Bangkok activities.
